Created in 2014 by a UK based non-profit organisation, the key goals behind Veganuary were to protect the environment, prevent animal suffering and improve the health of those who participated. By 2022 more than 620,000 people took part in the world’s biggest vegan challenge.
The health benefits that come with a month of super-healthy eating include lower blood pressure and cholesterol, a lower risk of type two diabetes, weight loss, and improved digestion.
Plant-based or plant-forward eating is when your focus is on foods that originate from plants rather than animals. Plant-based dining can offer your body all the protein, vitamins, minerals, healthy fats and carbohydrates that it needs to maintain an optimal level of health.
