We’re thrilled that Kensei Contemporary Japanese has been featured on the website of Fused – the international travel, culture and design magazine.
Not only has Kensei made the pages of such a prestigious publication but the article’s author declared the food as: “the best meal ever eaten”.
Fine praise indeed and acclaim that we believe was justified if you have a look and some of the dishes that were gleefully devoured.
They started with Japanese cocktail apéritifs before taking a journey of discovery through the six course tasting menu – the exquisite creation of Head Chef Victor Planas.
This Oriental delight is made up of a whole host of carefully crafted delicacies including tapioca salmon eggs royale, thinly sliced cured sea bass with garlic chips, scallops and Japanese mushrooms.
By the time the nigiri sushi was served the guests were saying that it was their “favourite meal of goodness knows when it has been so long since food tasted this good”.
And this was not the end – robata grilled yakitori smoked lollipop chicken and the 48-hour low cooked wagyu beef shank followed before a dessert of fresh Okinawa donuts served with a chocolate hot pot and layered with a gold leaf Kensei emblem.
It was a privalige to serve the guys from Fused Magazine and we hope to welcome them back to Kensei Contemporary Japanese soon.
